Welsh Music Prize

Since its inauguration in 2010, I have been one of the organisers for Welsh Music Prize – a music prize which recognises the best albums made in Wales in the previous year.

The prize was started by Radio 1’s Huw Stephens and Welsh Music Foundation’s John Rostron but from day one I have administered the prize which has now been awarded three times: firstly to Gruff Rhys (Super Furry Animals), then to Future of the Left and then also to Georgia Ruth.

The Prize is recognised as a very important part of Welsh music and as a major event in the cultural calendar. We have secured press attention from the BBC and S4C both broadcasting live from our ceremony as well as BBC 6Music, The Independent and NME among others.
